6 Tips to Keeping An Amazingly Clean Home Through The Holidays

Holiday Cleaning Tips

Yes we realize it is a bit early but as they say, “The early bird gets the worm and a clean home!“. We wanted to give you some quick cleaning tips to keep your home in tip top shape throughout the 2019 holiday season.

1. Keep Your Entry Clean & Free of Clutter

When you first walk into your home you don’t want to be greeted with a mess. It isn’t just the mess though, it is that completely unpleasant feeling of uneasiness and claustrophobia. The easiest way to make sure that your front area stays neat is to remove as much from the area as possible. If you don’t have to have your coats hanging next to your door then don’t. If you don’t have to have your shoes right next to the door then don’t. Removing the things from the area will have a surprisingly profound on your mood as you walk through the door and into your clean home paradise.

2. Clean Kitchen = Clean Home

During the holidays there is more of everything. More joy, more people, and more dishes. Some words of advice, if you only focus on one area in your home let it be your kitchen. The secret to a clean home is always through the kitchen; the reason being that it really all starts with the kitchen. With all of the cooking that is done during the holidays dishes can easily pile up. Clean as you go and your life will be so much easier!

3. Let’s Talk About the Garbage Disposal

Everyone who has ever owned a garbage disposal knows how stinky they can truly get. Part of keeping a clean home is making sure that you don’t have any weird smells coming from places that you shouldn’t. We aren’t talking about masking the smells with chemicals such as Febreeze or candles we are talking about a truly clean garbage disposal! Check out this great video on how to get your disposal cleaner than ever:

4. Visit the Refrigerator

While you’re still in the kitchen let’s discuss the refrigerator. We know how easy it is to forget about the good ol’ refrigerator because it’s usually a cold dark place, but even that cold dark place can grow some nasty things.

PRO TIP: Start with the top of the refrigerator and work your way down. This will help you with any debris that falls down, as it will simply fall down to the next shelf.

5. Put Things Away As You Use Them

While this one might seem like a no brainer it really is an important one. It is so much more difficult to muster up the willpower to put something away after it’s been left out. Part of keeping a clean home is to make sure that everyone does their part and takes care of their mess. It’s similar to washing your dishes as you cook because by doing this you will be able to lean out your cleaning processes and make life easier on yourself as well as your family.

6. Hire a Cleaning Company

So we kinda cheated on this one. We know how much work it is to keep a clean home during the holidays and you have to ask yourself, “Is it really worth my time with my family to clean?” Hiring someone else to take care of the cleaning can remove major stress from your life and free you up to be the best you.
